Today, 470.000 students are in public schools in Brasilia. Most of them have never left their own poor neighborhood. The dream of going to University and having a career is normally overcome by the necessity of generating income for the family and, many times, the proximity of drugs and violence leads them to a path of crime.
Using an efficient combination of digital marketing strategies and project management, Global Social helped the Brazilian Government create a program that takes teenagers at-risk situation to study abroad, having an important milestone in their curriculum and building the hope they need to pursue a better future.
The first edition of the “Brasília Without Borders” program took 200 students from poor communities in Brasilia to study at Georgetown University, in Washington DC. Because of the social media outreach and the positive repercussion also in traditional media, another six editions were secure and more than 2,000 students went to the best universities in Europe, Oceania, and North America.
